US-Israeli forces struck energy infrastructure in Isfahan and Khorramshahr early Tuesday, hitting Iran’s largest thermal power plant (2,500 MW capacity, supplying central Iran’s industrial sector) and a major gas pipeline station in Khorramshahr (1,100 MW, fifth-largest in the country). Fars News reported a gas administration building and pressure reduction station damaged in Isfahan, with several nearby homes also hit.

The strikes landed hours after Trump announced a 5-day postponement of energy infrastructure attacks, citing “productive” mediation. The White House has not clarified whether these targets fell outside the stated pause, or whether Israel acted independently. Iran’s IRIB called the strikes proof that “American promises are worthless.”

Brent crude recovered to $103.67 (+3.77%) on the session, reversing part of Monday’s crash. Markets are now pricing in the possibility that the 5-day mediation window may collapse before it begins. If Iran retaliates by escalating Hormuz restrictions or targeting Gulf energy infrastructure, the brief diplomatic opening created by the postponement could close within days.
